Ok after finally being extremely frustrated. Having read a lot of different information off the web for installing devhook .46 I finally formatted my memory stick and then used the easy installer which seems extremely easy.

It it installed and my PSP is showing a lot of stuff- easy install devhook 0.46, devhook firmware installer, escape devhook FW2.xx, and psp brew

Now my question is : where do i put my back ups? Do I need to add GAME or ISO folders? and if so, where do these go?

Thanks

Well appreciate the link but now I have got to step 16 in the tutorial and my PSP shuts off. This was after flashing and dumping the flash. Hopefully I didn't brick this v1.5 --yikes! All I got was a black screen basically at this point. I see the power light come on the PSP and a black screen, then the light goes out, basically powerless.

I will try to recharge the PSP and see if thats the problem then carry on with step 17.

Barring that I guess its bricked!
Thanks

Ok panicing now.

Plugged the PSP into the wall and same thing happens.

Turn the power on and screen turns kinda blue actually not black as I earlier posted.

Bricked?

Yep I think its bricked.

What I think happened was, your PSP shutdown (as your battery ran out) while DevHook was flashing. DevHook was flashing to flash1 so your IPL has been corrupted. Therefore your PSP can't boot the VSH and hence a blue screen pops up.

I should say in the guide that before flashing you should have a full battery, but I thought you would have thought of that :)

Sorry to say but the only thing you can do is use a modchip to restore it or buy a new motherboard.

EDIT: Wait I just read your post fully. So if it was after flashing I have no idea how your PSP turned out like that.

Hmmm not sure if the flash completed :(, actually I think it did because I then went to next step of hitting the home key and navigating back to the memory stick.

But I think your probably correct.

I checked the memory stick and files/folders are there. Took the battery out of the PSP and back in, same results each time.

Your obviously experienced and I believe your right.

Wonder how much it costs to mod a psp?
