PSP with v1.5 - Why should / shouldn't I upgrade?

After reading some posts, I have a newb question. I just came into a PSP with version 1.5.

Why should / shouldn't I upgrade?

Any cheap places for memory? What size should I get?

You shouldn't upgrade, because having firmware 1.5 will allow you to use all homebrew made for the psp which can be found on qj.net. You'll be able to play emulators (play games of other systems like gba, sega, ect.).

There's also a homebrew application called devhook that'll allow you to emulate the highest firmware, allowing you to play the newest psp games. So if you have 1.5, there's like no reason to upgrade. You can do it all man.

ebay has the cheapest memory cards but beware most are fake but if you ask me it dosent realy mater

yeah that and if you want to play iso's then then i think a 2gb stick will be enough.

thanks for the advice...out of curiousity, I see that these (with 1.5) are in demand, what can I get for something like this? It's in good condition (mint'like).
