you shouldnt get a rar file you should av got a iso file. this is what to do. open umdgen and drag and drop your to folders where it says on items to show then click on file in the top left corner and go to save as the name of the game and click on iso at the bottom and click save.

No it is an ISO file but you have WinRAR associated to isos.

Right-click the .iso file go to Open With and then select UMGen (browse for it if it isnt in the list) and then check the "Always use this program" option. Then WinRAR will no longer be associated to ISOs.

i think something is wrong.

i think im doing the right thing - still i get a WinRAR file after its done generating the iso. in that WinRAR file, i have UMD_DATA and PSP_GAME.

Are you sure it has the .rar extension? If it has the ISO extension just do what I said in the above post.

Whats the filename of the file you are referring to?

this is what im doing.

I have a .dax file which i open with umdgen. I then get 2 files, PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.

If i then go to save as, ISO file, and choose my file name, it starts "generating iso......." when its done i have my file - with the name i gave it - only its a WinRAR file and in that file i have the same 2 files i had - PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.

am i doing this wrong ?

with the name i gave it - only its a WinRAR file

That means its an ISO. Just copy the file to X:/ISO/ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP) and then it will run with DevHook.

And why do you want to convert it to an ISO anyway? CSOs are much smaller and better (except for the GTA games where the CSOs lag).
