Nero burning ROM scans my VST's and crashes.

I've been fighting this problem for weeks now. I have tried several variations of Ultra 7. I've tried the clean tool. I've tried removing every single other burn program off my PC. I've ran the driver removal tools.

What's happening is, I drag a mp3, wave or wma file over to be burned, click on it, and Nero scans all of my directx and VST plugins that I have on a seperate partition and folder of my drive. If this is right after a fresh install of Nero, it scans all of my VST's and when it's finished I can then play the file or modify the files properties. The next time I try and do the same thing, Nero crashes and needs to close.

I've tried e-mail support(what a joke!) and contacted customer service (no help). What I would like to do is stop Nero from scanning my plugins or hide my VST folders from Nero to try and stop this from happening. I use my computer for making music and I do not want to completely rearrange my system to suit Nero. I would like to edit Nero to suit my system. I've looked through all of the options, and see nothing with regards to this.

Has anyone else had this problem? Or better yet, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at my wits end with this problem. Every other version of Nero that I've used (bundled with drives) has worked great. Now, I buy the full version and can't use a major component of it. Very frustrating.
