this might sound dumb but is this a possible blank dvd?
The PC and stand alone players having trouble with it?
What's the brand name and model# of your drive?
What's the brand name/format/ and speed rate of those blank DVD+R discs? I want to make sure you weren't using dash.
What did you backup? Data DVD/Dvd movie/AVI to dvd?Etc
Try to play it in your pc,using the DVD-RW drive that burned that disc.
Since it sometimes plays,sounds like that drive don't like that format.It could also be poor quality media,burned too fast,paper/sticker labels,burn engine,transcoding programs,or a slew of other issues.

it was a dvd i was buring (but i am a cheerleader) stand one play starts to play then stop. almost like partily burn? wont play at all in pc now.my burner is a nec 1100a morhiped in to a 1300 with a firmware update. has throuble reconozing dvd always get this in my logs

use verb,burn at 4x,no paper,used Nero and dvdfab to rip.
i think its my inexperiace with Nero causing it . i have no problem in dvdfab to shrink to autoburn w/nero.
