4x DMA is fast boot - it loads only a certain amoount of the game in the DS memory and then boots it.. giving you about a 2 second head start into the game. M3 Lite Pro only works with 4x DMA games
1x DMA is full boot.. it takes a few seconds longer but the game is saved into the M3's memory.. sometimes its better but most of the time you can't tell a difference.
Check m3wiki.com for more information regarding which games can be used with what settings. Most can be used with 4x but some have glitches w/ it

on metroid prime hunters it has a 4x DMA then witha line through it... what settings should i use with that? cuase my metroid prime keeps freezing on me, i have a PQI 2GB miniSD card and it runs the castlevania video perfectly, and other videos perfectly from other games so i assume the speed is good on it.
Also what settings should i use on mario kart DS?
They have trim rom, 4x DMA, and software reset crossed out, then it says"needed for WFC" whats that mean?

On MPH: since it has 4xDMA crossed out.. that means don't use it..
Regarding Mario Kart, you need to have the full 32MB game in order to play on WFC and not crash (the wifi mode). If you use TRIM or other stuff.. it won't work on WFC -- it will crash

Which M3 are you using?
Regarding MPH: it depends per M3, but if you're using a regular M3 (non Pro).. use Trim ROM and NORMAL mode. If that doesn't work, run it in safe mode
Regarding MKDS: you can use all the options crossed out, however you can't get on Wifi (which you said you didn't want to). If it doesn't work, run it in Normal mode or safe mode.
If you still can't get either to run, you may want to consider checking the version of your M3 - should be running firmware 30c

I have a M3 Perfect mini SD, I'll try those settings now.
Also how am i supposed to be shutting down my games? I am just turning the power off, or using the software reset if the games lets me, but even then i get this error"Auto backing up NDS save file"
"DONOT shut down without finish!"
i dont really get what that means lol, i see no other way to turn it off besides the power button, and it keeps corrupting my save files, I can get castlevania portrait of ruin running great now, but i keep losing my save file :((

thats not an error :) its acting normally. Basically whenever you save your game, it saves it into M3's temporary memory.. and upon reboot it will write it to the miniSD card so next time you play you can start out where you left off instead of starting all over again

i see, but my save file for castlevania keeps getting corrupted :(. anyways now everything went to hell :(
I put the mini sd card back in my pc to add a game, after i had them all working, and it wouldnt load up any of the nds files.. rebooted pc and tried again, and wouldnt show any of the nds files on the sd card, so i right clicked on the drive to reformat it, and reformatted in FAT32, reinstalled 2 games and when i try to play it it jsut hangs on the
Load NDS Game for M3
Game Loading...
So then i reformatted in normal FAT and same thing is happeneing, i'm going to hit the sack for the night and try to get it to work then, any ideas?

hm.. i guess whatever it was has been fixed then. I know for the hacked tracks you must use the full untrimmed version.. or else it crashes (first hand experience on that one!)
