No audio when playing dvd on desktop

Hello all. I was recently copying a couple of dvds using my desktop. I tried to play back the copy on my computer, there was no audio. I figured it was a problem with the copy. But when I tried to play it on my dvd player, it played fine. This confused me, so I when and tried to play the original disk on my desktop and there was no audio. This disk played fine on my dvd player though.. I have not had any problems in the past of this nature. Can someone please offer some help. Is there a problem with my desktop?

sometime it could be the small things that could be the problem, are your speakers pluged in? are they turned on? is the volume turned up loud enugh to hear? is the volume muted in the volume controls? do you have your hearing aid turned off? hope theese thing help have a nice day
