nintendo is replacing everyones broken straps free of charge if you give them a call they will give you a thicker strap.

They've already sold 3.4 million? That seems a little high. I thought it was 1.2 million.

3.4 million wiimotes(straps) only 1.2 million or so consoles....

If you put it more into context, there have been only a couple hundred reported strap breaks and about 3 million wiimotes out there, a very small percentage, with most of the breaks due to what I would call abuse. Nintendo is playing it very safe with this voluntary recall, Kudos to them.

I couldn't agree more. These strap breaks are a very very small percentage and unfortunately this issue has been blown way out of proportion by the media and websites like the one mentioned above. Wii users know this isn't a big deal and I don't plan on hassling with replacing my straps as I don't forsee me abusing my system accessories.
