Hello, I am new to installing modchips. I just got an aladdin ex modchip. Taking xbox apart seems easy. But, I am now familar with the soldering, wiring, and placement of "aladdin ex modchip". Does anyone have pics or diagram on how to install?

Thanks for reply, I saw this pic. But I am still wondering what wires I need to connect where. Would you have a picture of v1.0 installed with all wires attached?

i can't look through the screen and know which diagram you are looking at and you didnt post a link or the pic.............
DO to ground forces the console to boot the pin header BIOS (your chip) instead of the onboard TSOP. the chip controls this and if you directly ground it you'll always have the chip in the ON position. you need to connect BT and DO from their prespective onboard (the Motherboard) location to their indicated positions on the chip (marked DO and BT)

I was refering to pic you had in your link. Is it necessary to have DO to ground to boot pin header BIOS or just solder DO and BT points?

maybe we aren't on the same sheet here. as previously stated if the DO is grounded the console will ONLY boot the BIOS from the pin header (off your chip).
the chip has a DO connection on it (as well as the BT) so that the chip can control when it grounds the DO point, that way the chip has a disable feature, if you just hook DO to ground you can't turn the chip off regardless of what you do.
kc
EDIT if you have a v1.6 and you did the LPC rebuild (and you have to on a 1.6) then the DO connection is a wire between the LPC rebuild board and the chip, on all 1.5 and below versions you solder DO from the DO on chip to the Motherboard location.

So in other words I don't want to solder DO to ground, but DO from chip to board and BT from chip to board. Is that all I have to do?
p.s I have a version 1.0

I currently have xbox open. Is there a way I can solder through the LPC holes to put on pin header without burning board.

the pic in the links provided shows it, you just have to pick which version box you have and use that diagram.

You must have done something wrong while installing your mod-chip.
Check whether you have soldered everything correctly and properly.

I have xbox open to recheck errors. Currently I have BT soldered underboard that another site showed an alternate BT point. Does anybody know which resistor on top of board is the BT point. I cannot see it clear in diagram above.

that isn't a point you can 'char' off, it's an intersection of two hair line traces on the MOBO, if you got the PCB so hot the trace lifted (and the silver solder pad is now gone) you'll have to repair the trace. not an overly easy task for us pro's so you might want to quiet while you're ahead and find a local modder to fix it and reinstall your chip before the whole thing is FUBAR. that is a very common problem when i get in boxes the owner tried to mod themselves and had difficulties.
if you think you're up for the task of repairing it, use 30 awg Kynar wire and solder it to the hair size traces that you melted the pad off of, a magnifier might help you.
