please help me i cant burn any dvd's anymore i have a

pioneer dvd rw dvr-106d (dvd+rw:4/2,4x,dvd-rw:4x/2x, dvd-rom:12x,cd:16x/10x/32x dvd+rw/dvd-Rw)

i have always burned but now i cant i dont know what happend please help me

i tried update my firmware but everytime when i try to do that it says Available target is not found

please please help me

Hi TheV
Did the drive come with the pc? Here's a link for firmware for this drive.
If this drive did come w/ the pc check & see if the manufacturer is listed here - you would use that one.

What media are you using? Like Sony +R 16x?

Burn speed you using?

Do you get any kind of error message when you try to burn a DVD?

first of all i want to thank all of you who are trying to help me

am going to look at the site thanks for given me that
i use Platinum DVD+R 16x speed

burn at 4x speed

i used to do it like this but now just like boom it doesnt work

No i dont get any error messenges well come to think of it now do get any error messengers going to check.......


nope no errors


by the way i can burn normal cd's that is no problem also when i put a empty dvd in it the station changes in to Cd-Rom:S

Putting the blank in the drive & showing as a cd rom is okay - windows does that for some reason.

Since it's an older drive it may have problems w/ 16x media hopefully the link will have a firmware that may help.

So what happen's when you try to burn? What program are you using?

when i try upgrading my firmware it still says Available target is not found

i use Nero

i have always burned data on a dvd disc with Nero always the same dvd's and never had a problem until now tht is

Well thr drive is getting on in years - may just be time to replace it.

You can post the last Nero log and we can take a peek if you like.
Just be sure to edit out the serial # - begins w/ 1A,1C or 5C.
