ive got a hole in my computer that says "aud in" and ive also got a hole with a symbol of some headphones on the front, where my speakers are currently pluged in.

Question:
I want the sound form my computer to come out of my TV, so, if i get an RCA cable and a combiner (i dont know what you call them, something to make both audio wires go into one hole" could i run the 2 prong end into the speakers and the single prong end to my computer and have sound come out of the TV?

to answer the first part of your post, most newer computer towers have an audio/headphone output on the front panel along with the audio output on the back motherboard. But most do not work simultaneously, so in other words you can only have speakers/headphones connected to the rear port or front port, but not both.

So do you want to have audio come out of your computer speakers AND your TV? If so, you need two cables. First you need a 1/8" male to two 1/8" female splitter. You plug the male connector to the audio output of your computer, then via the two female ports you can connect your computer speakers and your TV. Now to connect the audio to your TV, the second cable you need is an 1/8" stereo plug to two RCA plugs, usually red and white (red is right, white is left). That should allow you to connect the male plug into the remaining female jack of the splitter, and the two RCA plugs will connect to the audio input of your TV.

Both cables are pretty common, you should be able to find them at most electronic stores like Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City, and so on.
