I'd like to know - is there any way i can put an album of MP3s onto a DVD-R and be able to play them back on any standalone player using a menu?

ie have a menu screen come up with a list of 20 songs or so, be able to scroll up and down the list, click on a song and have it play.

Just Create a DVD-Rom(ISO) with say Nero. As Far as being able to play it will depend on your DVD Player.
I Have 4 DVD Players and only My Phillips plays the Mp3 DVD.. Just do trial an see if it would work?

no, none of you have the right idea at all!

i'm not talking about a standard data DVD with mp3 files on it that you can play in your DVD player (the same way you can make MP3 CDs and play them in your DVD player, or portable MP3 cd player, or compatible hi-fi)

as i said, i want it to work on any standalone player, using a menu (ie one that is on the DVD rather than the player, that i create myself).

the only thing i can think of is to make a menu with background music, and have a different menu for each song

no, i've been searching everywhere and it really doesn't look possible :(

looks like i'll have to go with the idea of having loads of menus with entire songs as background music.

You can do it with Pinnacle studio 8. Just leave the video screen blank and concentrate on the soundtrack. You can create menus for DVD authoring then output to disc in one click. Studio 8 is a video editing and DVD authoring prog in one but you should be able use it for audio if you either leave the video part of the timeline blank or just add any image from your PC files. The only thing is you will need to output your mp3 album to a CD first and I think this will need to be a full CD (not an mp3 CD). You then upload each track to the audio timeline in Studio.

By the way there would be just one menu with a list of all the songs you have uploaded. All you have to do is select where each scene (song in this case) starts and this is automatically linked to the main menu.
