Is this light supossed to be on always when the wii is on? or just turns on for a moment and then off again as mine

the blue light only comes on for a short second and like todays update the wii light was blinking to let wii gamers know that the weather channel is online and we needed to download the latest update

if u want it to stay always on send amessage to your wii email and never check it and the light will be always on.

That doesn't work for me... I sent my Wii a message, it didn't light up until about fifteen minutes later, and then when I turned it on to play, the light didn't come back on when it was shut down again.

It occasionally comes on, but I haven't really had the opportunity to try messaging much, none of my buddies have the system.... So it's kind of sparing.
