Dude I got one today. I heard futureshop got 5 last night, so I went to futureshop at 6am to wait at the front door till 9 when they opened. There were 7 ppl camped overnight ahead of me :( I came home pissed and determined to get a wii for my son's xmas gift. I blitzed every retailer I could think of...3 futureshop's, 4 eb games, 4 blockbuster, 3 walmarts, and on the 4th rogers video I hit gold :)

The only shitty thing was my son wanted the new Zelda to go with the wii, and the Rogers Video I was at didn't have any copies cause it's one of the more popular titles for the wii this xmas. So back home I went and hit the phone again. This time it was a walmart about 15 kms from me that hooked me up. I got The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and a 1g mem card :) So if you want one it's worth a try.

There is a santa claus

Sidenote: The memory card isn't all that useful...

On another side note, the memory card is standard SD memory. The system has 512 megs built in memory, so it will be a while before you need the memory card, and also, you can get bigger cards for less than half the price at places like newegg.com. Standard SD card.

Another Side Note:

Just buy a regular SD card. You will save money doing this, instead of buying an SD card with the word Wii on it.

If you are going to buy memory for the Wii, don't buy the SD cards that say are just for the Wii. Any SD card will work, and you can actually get them for a cheaper price (then buying one that says Wii on it). Just thought some of you should know.
Uh, did you at all read what i just posted in the post immediately before yours?

Sorry dude, I read like the first sentence about how the system has 512MB of memory. I didn't read the rest about what you said.

Sorry about that.

Depending on the age of the kid, being able to transfer music/pictures/video may or may not be useful. And really, you have to have them on a pc or something to begin with; so why would you really want to go through the trouble of transferrring it to a special format onto a little card to be read?

I FTP files into my XBoxes, but thats VERY quick, and doesn't require any conversions whatsoever. If it did, I wouldn't be bothered with it. But they made it so easy to backup my music collection, now I don't have to re-rip my CDs when I rebuild my PC. And I keep a small collection of legally owned dos games on there too; it's nice playing them on my tv in higher quality, and I love that controller.

But it seems less useful, and more painstaking on the Wii.
