probably not the best way to express things here...
here is the link for the strap replacement
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/strapreplace.jsp
here is a link about the recall
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061215/ap_o...nintendo_recall
so depending on how people look at things, the straps are being recalled which makes for a fairly easy case against nintendo. i doubt anyone will see any million dollar settlements, but i wouldn't be surprised if some people were compenstated for their broken tvs.

****EDIT****
This was being typed while LancerX typed his response above. Otherwise I would not have written it.
But it's a good reminder for those who consider making similar statements, as this happens all too often.
****EDIT****
Also, if you're going to criticize an entire MASS of people for their ignorance/stupidity/pride/whatever.... It's probably a good idea to sound less ignorant while doing it.
Both of those lawsuits were actually women. And yes, both women won. I think a lot of it, is that the corporation didn't take it seriously enough, or decided that they would spend a lot more money defending themselves with high power attorneys; which again defeats your statement. Why? Because, 'yes', there are a lot of dumb people in the US, but to state that we have more, or that we are all idiots is a very uneducated statement. Every nation has plenty of idiots, maybe in different ways, or maybe in different areas, maybe they make people miserable, and screw up the country with different methods; but they're everywhere. The fact that a company like McDonalds recognized the way our court systems work, and didn't pony up more senseless money defending themselves is a sign of intelligence. What's dumber; spending $40 million on a high powered attorney to defend your corporation, or letting go of $10 million to shut some woman up, and then protecting yourself against further suits by changing business practices?
In the case of the coffee suit(This was actually discussed in another thread recently) McDonalds paid out, because she only wanted 10 grand. They'd honestly be stupid not to. They immediately changed their coffee cups to start saying 'Caution: Coffee May be hot!' (Many chains started doing it at precisely this point in time.)
Clearly anyone who feels so bold as to come out and say things like that at a general nation, while clearly knowing so little about it is obviously pretty uneducated on the particular topic; and only comes off appearring ignorant. I'm not about to say something about another race or nation in general, because I'm smart enough to know that it isn't true. So, why don't we keep the racial and nationalist comments to ourselves, eh?

hmm on an unrelated note... someone in central florida a couple years back broke into a family's home, tripped on something, broke his leg, sued, and won.

I read about the suit a few days ago. The good news for Nintendo is that they issued the strap replacements before the suit was filed. The good news for the Texan is that he has a pretty good case.

I think that it's funny that people can't hold onto the Remote. Really, in my opinion If you can't hold a remote, then maybe the Wii isn't for you.

ive never had problems with my strap, i dont even use it sometimes. I guess people get really into games and use excess force but most games can be played without hardly moving.

That's what i think too, u just need to move the wrist to any side and it will work the same as doing the complete move.

I think DDP saw your apology and just wanted to run that by to make sure you understood that it was an actual rule, more of a 'for future reference' sort of thing. We all saw that you apologized, it's all good. :D
As for the suit, I am just absolutely basking in irony right now. I was just debating with someone(On this board) that it would inevitably launch a class action suit, within weeks, so that Nintendo could just end this problem once and for all.
Last night I get an e-mail from Nintendo, trying to identify whether I needed a replacement strap, apparently it is a class action suit, and they are sending out mass quanitities of replacement straps. Go figure.
I still have to fill out the form and all, but I'll probably get to it this weekend.

The problem is that people don't understand the technology. You can swing it as hard as you want -- it isn't going to make a difference. The sensor only recognizes so much.
There have also been no reports of this type of thing happening in Japan. Americans just have a whole lot less restraint over their actions. They have no grace. Guess I should be saying "we" as I am an American myself. I am making a conscious effort to improve the way I carry myself though, unlike most.
Now that I am going into a rant, I think I better stop writing.
