I have a 30 gig Ipod and I have used 55% of my space, but I only have approx. 2700 songs. They were either saved as 128bit or some of my favorite CDs are ripped at 160 with Audiograbber (with Lossless MP3) or DbpowerAmp (128-160 Lossless), but the trial period, which i was unaware of expired, so I no longer used that program. I have co-workers who have the same Ipod, with 1800 songs (using Itunes and it's default settings, I believe 128 AAC) and their Ipods are at 5-7% used. Is the AAC encoder in Winamp the same as the Itunes? Which version is overall best compromise of quality and compression to save space on Ipod: aacplus (He-AAC), aacplus High bitrate, Mp4/aac plus, Mp4aacplus High bitrate or LC AAC? I will leave songs on my desktop to lossless (Size is fine on my hard drive). If the difference was less, I would leave in lossless, but at this rate I will only have approx. 5200 songs on my Ipod where co-workes setup will give much more songs for the same space.

PS I did hear some of their songs at their Itunes settings and the quality sounded good to me.

Happy Holidays to all!!!
