wmv burn to DVD? Problems!

Hey!

I'm having major troubles with getting a wmv file onto a DVD disk. I own a external Philips DVD burner.

Im using Nero Vision Express 3 3.1.0.25
&
Nero Burning Rom 6 -SE
6.6.01.4H

I'm using a DVD-RW disk - Heres my problem..

I go to tap DVD and pick "Make a video CD"

A window pops up, letting me add the file I want to add (wmv)
It add the file and I hit burn.

It encodes the video (takes forever!)

and then, I get a pop- up saying..

(It says somthing about CD-R/RW, Which dosen't make sence. Seeing as Im looking for a DVD??)

Bare with me! I'm a newbie to burning softwear, etc etc.

ps: I'm needing this DVD burned and on a disk as soon as possible. Its a wedding video, and the entire family is only home for the next few days. Not wanting to cram around a comp. to watch it, way rather watch it on the TV.

Hi oneway911

Since you're picking make a video cd you'll need to use a cd instead of a dvd. That's why you're getting that pop up.

Use the make your own dvd-video option. This will open Vision and transcode .wmv to a dvd compliant video that should play on your dvd player.

Call me blind, but what is the "create your own dvd-video" option under? What tab? I cant seem to find it..

(Again, bare with me..I pledge to get better at this!)

No worries :)

Try this - under applications in Nero SmartStart pick NeroVision Express. Then pick Make DVD>DVD-Video.

Have the external burner hooked up and on.
