Ok well i'm not sure how much life these DVD-RW's have but I usually use Sony and I have a Sony DVP-S330 - lately i've noticed alot of skipping from my burned dvds. I usually will use VSO's Divx2Dvd to convert xvid's to dvd then i'll use Nero to burn at 2x. I have a Nec ND-3504A

I am wondering if it is the media or my process or even what I use to burn the dvds but its beginning to become annoying. The sources themselves obviously don't skip, and I've had this dvd player for a while so maybe its the dvd player? I haven't thought of switching media until recently doing some research I may try some Verbatim DVD-RW's as what I read suggest Verbatim being one of the top brands.

Any recommendations or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Hello, Well the only problem with these DVD-RW is that after alot of uses they get scratches, that is truly inevitable. But those scratches may not affect alot playback at first, but when burning they dont let the laser light get correctly to disc dye and so it does not burn correctly, probbably causing the problem you just described.

About buying new DVD-RW, I still recommend sony as they are very good quality discs.

PD: If you buy new DVD-RW and the problem persist you can post back, there may be another issue ruining your burns.

I did purchase new dvd-rw's recently and i was beginning to think it was my encoding that did it (using convertX2dvd) however i burned to verbatim dvd-r's with NO skipping or jumping or anything. So i ordered verbatim cd-rw's and going to see how they pan out. I have read that ritek (sony) are not the best. I don't mind paying alittle more for tayo or verbatim
