Is anybody having trouble connecting and downloading updates from their consoles? I can't connect to Nintendo although my wireless network is functioning fine.

I'm also having trouble getting it connected and i've done a ton of research.
I'm hoping that tomorrow there will be some extra info cause of all the people that got there Wii on Christmas day will complain.

in a matter of minuets. very easy to do . tell me what type of router you have and if you can acess it through your computer. very easy

the reason you cannot connect is the wii is sensitive to wireless phone signals

this is why you are having connection issues

1.the wii should be set to channel 6 on the wireless router to channel 1

the connection should test first

then update your console using the weather channel on the wii

you may also have a issue with several people being online at once over loading the wii's servers this has happen a lot with updates

this is common try to connect again and again and again it will eventually work

like i said the wii is very sensistive to differrent interference

Is trying 10,11 times enough?
I can't spend my whole life trying, so does anybody have an answer?
if not, don't spend your time telling us what to do if you're not sure.
And opj38 if you know how to fix it why don't you make a tutorial on it,i'm sure it would get stickied.
its better to write a tutorial then to ask us to phone or email you because more than one person can profit from your knowledge on connecting the Wii to the internet.

Is your wireless Mac Id protected? i mean the security of your wireless. i was having the same problem but is working fine now. Ok, if you have any security on your wireless try turning off and then try to connect the wii to your wireless lets see how it goes, on the other hand, are you on DHCP or do you have an IP assigned to your equipment at home?
