I remember the days of the N64. What a great kickoff that was. The systems flew off the shelves. Then came the Gamecube. Being that I never actually owned one (only Nintendo system other than Virtual Boy that I can say this for), I don't know how well it sold.

Now we have the DS and the Wii. In Japan, the DS Lite (keep in mind, this is an OLD system, that was re-designed) has been sold out since it was released. That was over half a year ago. Quite an unbelievable feat. Usually only limited edition sports cars and collectibles are able to do something like this. Then we have the Wii... which is definitely sold out in Japan (showing no signs of being in stock anytime soon), and probably most of the world over.

On the other hand, major retailers are now stocking PS3s. You can walk into a store and pick one up without a line or any hassle at all. The demand seems to have been met. I really wonder what will end up happening to Sony. They are losing money on their system, and are not even able to sell it. There are no killer apps, or at least not for a while. I loved my playstations, but this could be the last.

Point in case, Nintendo is back with a vengeance. Their re-evaluation of the videogame market could be just as innovative as that little red plumber was back in the 1980s. I welcome back the Nintendo I love.

i have to agree sony needs to realize that gamers and even grandparents or parents of children are not going to fork out 600.00 for the ps3 when for the cost of the nintendo wii which comes with a game not a lame blu ray dvd disk and only cost's 250.00 i think that the winners this year are nintendo and microsoft's xbox 360 due to price and gaming goodness
even electronic gaming monthly voted that the wii had great downloadable content right off the back where the ps3 didn't but after all there research they said that the ps3 only has 2 good launch titles and nothing else to offer this year

i believe the ps3 is sold out most everywhere too. I havn't seen a wii on store shelves the few times i've been in an electronics store, and the only ps3 I saw was quickly snatched by a customer.

I'm just hoping Nintendo does well enough so they can stay in the console race. I wouldn't be dissappointed for a 3-way tie or something close to that.

Trust me leave a year and you will we all will well crap ourselves when we see because i know it will happend baceuse of this

Wii GPU
347mhz
Xbox 360 gpu
500mhz
Gamecube GPU
143mhz
Difference is alot between GCn bu not as much as people think between the 360 and wii + the wii dosent have to render in HD whihc means the extra mhz the 360 has might go to HD renedering and in plain graphics it might be tied with the Wii shocking??
Just leave time do its job im suprised with the 360 so far much less in graphics then it wwas all hyped up to be before launch remba ps2 launch tittle GT3 in 2000 not one game could match it for atleast 2-3 years It was one of the top 5 best looking ps2 games and it was a launch tittle thats what m,akes me think that developers arent putting in as much as they used to
