I think those kind of things are prone to kill your laser.
Best thing is if you wanna play ps1 games on ps2 and they are copied, then get beaker pro
Or if you wanna play ps2 backups on ps2, get swpa magic!

Why play them on PC and fcuk up your laser/ram and even screen.
Those things are intended for ps2/ps1's only. Not for PC's
Now take your junior member/pc f*****g advise elsewhere.
Even look on sonies forums about emulators.

PS2 dosnet even have a screen so it means it would screw our TV's

Its like Playing a PC game all its doing is reading
Sony Would never answer about emulators in the 1st place because they are piracy and sony hates it.

exactly they hate it.. and so do we.. they are dumb.
pc games are meant for the pc,
if ps2 games were supposed to be compatible with pc sony would put on their games
COMPATIBLE WITH PC.
Plus they laser does fry because it is having extra stress by reading a disk it is not supposed to be compatible with.
@ dazilla: lol, yh it was early in the morning and i was tired lol, anyways people hu wanna use emu's can, im just saying i wouldnt trust them

Sometimes people will attack you personally, flame without an apparent reason, etc., even if you don't screw up (or have only screwed up in their imagination). There was no hostility directed to anyone in my original post, ganglead was posing a question and I simply attempted to answer it.

People that contribute, contribute regardless. I've been on boards with ranks, ratings, post counts, "thanks" systems.....the people that do the most care about it the least. Content > Quantity. Post counts and ranks reveal how active you are, but apart from that they are all but meaningless.
The ePSXe emulator can run from CD and many types of CD images directly from the user's hard drive. With few exceptions, it is capable of nearly flawlessly emulating many PlayStation games. Having a decent computer (roughly 1 GHz and above), a good video card and sound card is important if you want the best experience. Of course, this is dependent on the plug-ins used and how they are configured.
Personally I have not heard about anyone 'frying' their laser by reading PSX CDs. There is no reason to think they would--PSX CDs are simply compact discs with a black tint to them that contain blank sectors of data that are intended to prohibit their copying (unsuccessfully). As such, reading them would not noticeably degrade the laser of a modern optical disc drive any more than a standard CD would. We are talking about the lasers of modern PC drives here, not the PS2 optical drive (which is widely known to be faulty).
PCSX2, on the other hand is still very much in development. Today, the emulator runs a few commercial games with some glitches - however, the main problem is the speed. Consequently, don't expect a great playing experience when playing PS2 games on your PC.
