Why can't I log on to Bitcomet?

First let me just say that I am new to this site as well new to working with Bitcomet. I downloaded the latest version of Bitcomet (0.70) and that was alright. When the wizard was activated to do a custom install the "Bitcomet (required) was grayed. I can't log on for some reason either when I am ready to download a torret. It sits there in the download mode but isn't doing anything. Could it be the firewall? I know I am over looking something but don't know what. Please help. I am trying to understand all of these things and it's over whelming. Thanks.

Make sure you've allowed bit comet access to your network via firewall and check if there are active seeders or peers on the torrent.
