Just received pack of Sony DVD+R D 11. Tried to burn them on CloneDVD. I'm told "media write error" "writedvd 10 11 w2". I tried several disks from the package with the same result. Ran the disks in DVD Identifier and it showed them to be O.K. and first quality. What can be wrong with them? Is there any diagnostic program I can use to check them out?

You may just need a firmware update for your drive if one is available.
What's the make, model and firmware version?

What burn speed do you have Clone set to?

In CloneDVD click on 'write existing data' the make and model is listed under dvd writer and the firmware version is what's next to rev.

I used quite a few of Sony 8x dvd's - pretty good on this end - no problems.

Sony + format media is very good,in the 8x and 16x speed rates. Not so fortunant with their older +4x.

Some drives overburn sony media if the burn setting is left on at max. I can get 16x out of the same sony D21 and Yuden000-T02 sony spindles.

I'd update the firmware like binkie7 posted.

Dvdidentifier will reveal the answers the questions that binkie7 posted.
