Yeah, im all about the ROMs...
so, trying to find a Wii locally (heh), was just wondering...who here has bought games for the virtual console? how are they stored?
I understand there's supposed to be 512MB of internal memory or so (?), i saw another 512 for $40, the 2 gig for $99, i dont know if save files are large enough to warrant the later or not.
Anyway, i know these forums are already filling up with homebrew/backup game threads, i just didnt find one for the old-school games & whether you can download/swap them yet or if anyone knows if that's being worked on/will be an option. As always, id appreciate any info you got, thanks in advance.

yes you can download vc games via torrents but they will not work because the vc games are assigned to the nintendo.com insiderforum account you have to create to register the wii it keeps track of all of your games that you have downloaded if it detects a illegal rom it will report the rom to the nintendo.com server and you will face charges of piracy

But thats also only if it has a wireless network to connect to, to send that info. i dont know if you HAVE to have a working connection setup to play VC games or not.

yes you have to have a working connection all vc games verify weather you have the rom legally and if you do not have it in your account information it will block you from copying or running the vc game it will also confirm online weather you have rights to access it

...shit.
that's gonna be tricky to get around. If anyone's had any success or ideas about this, please let me know...I was so excited to hear about this option for the Wii, but i originally envisioned an itunes-type of setup, with NES games at like $1-2...$10 for N64, $8 for genesis? That shit's silly.

i have several ideas but i have no c++ skills at all to get around it
the only thing some one has to do is find the master code and because the code changes every console this is impossible to find the correct master code
