Well, when I play the back up cd-r on the ps2, the screen didn't have color except black and white, and it kinda moved up and down like an old TV. So I'm wondering if it was because I was burning a dvd game on a cd-r or if it was another matter. I tried 40x, 24x and 16x, and the same thing keep happened.

Did you back this game up yourself or did you download it? If you downloaded it then you could have gotten a PAL version (black and white and screen will roll). If you think it is PAL then you can patch it with pal2ntsc from here. If not then try burning to dvd.
