I'm having a few problems with my 3rd gen, 30gb iPod that I need some help with.
I'm having these 2 problems to begin with 1 2
And none have been solved by following the instructions. It may be worth noting that the errors only started appearing after i had put approx 1000 songs on to the ipod. Then the errors appear consistently afterwards after every 10-50 songs are added to the ipod. As well as that the first songs have the skipping problem i describe just below. It's not only the songs uploaded after the first 1000.
Next Problem After disconnecting the ipod from my computer i will go to an artist/album/playlist etc, i will select the song and play it, it will attempt to play it for 5-10 seconds before skipping on to the next track in that album/playlist etc. After that it will sometimes skip several other songs before finally beginning to play one. I CAN skip back through the songs, and it may repeatedly skip forward but eventually it DOES play the song, so the full file is there on the ipod.
Next Problem On my PC it indicates how much space is taken up/available. However, on the iPod when i go to settings->about it says songs: 1197, capacity: 27.8GB, available: 27.8GB. Clearly that is not right.
I have restored the iPod twice (once because i had to, because it had been used with a mac, and secondly to see if the problem of the songs skipping through would be fixed), before restoring it for the second time i also looked at the about section on the ipod, it said something like 23.4GB was available. That was also wrong, because there were over 3000 songs put on there at that point. And when connected to my PC in itunes, it said that about 13GB was available.
Something is fundamentally wrong. I do not know if the 2 problems i linked to at the top are connected with the songs skipping through, as well as the ipod showing incorrect information regarding the storage. It is over 3 years old, possibly 4-5 years old, but regardless, it would cost upwards of £150 to replace.
Also, it was 100% in working order before i restored it. And without restoring it i would not be able to take music off or put new music on.
