The new DVD Shrink will not recognize the DVD in Drive

I have used Shrink for about a year now and has always worked perfectly, 4.3Gb, DVD+-R, and Dual layer.
I had to reload my OS XP and reload DVD Shrink. First, I loaded Nero 7 for the engine, then DVD Shrink 3.2.015.
I have repeated this process several times but Shrink will not recognize there is a blank disk in the drive (Plextor 716 external, USB) but used to work before I had to reload the OS.

Any one have any ideas what is wrong with Shrink??
When I use 'OPEN DISK', the window says:Select DVD and in window (K:\NO DISC). If I hit OK, then it says there is no disk in the drive. I know the disc (DVD+DL, DVD-+R is blank because DVD identifier says so and it is new from the package.

Please, anyone have any ideas?

Try this:
Go into your Device Manager, and find your drive. Right click on it, and choose "Uninstall". After it uninstalls, reboot, and let Windows detect new hardware, and install a new driver for you. This works many times, with internal drives, but not sure about external drives. Shouldn't hurt anything to try it. Driver may have gotten corrupted, during reinstallation of OS.
