Its still gay how u have to pay $10 on games u already own. And to buy a N64 game at a retail store cost way less.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

well you can but it wont work because of the stupid rsa secure assign content incryption meaning that once you download it on one console you cannot copy it to another console

So if my system goes up and I buy a new one, I will lose all the games I paid for?
Seems ridiculous to me.

No nintendo has you registered once you download. You are licensed to download them as many times as necessary. If your console fries you send it in to them and they will ship you a new one with the downloads on it(so I hear). I would imagine you could most likely call them and the serial number of the Wii should identify what has been downloaded. You can apparently back up/move your downloads onto SD cards, as well. I haven't tried this so not sure on the parameters involved.

not true if you move them onto a sd card you still cannot copy the games because the games are assigned to the serial number on the console if the serial number doesn't match it wont work because the games connect to the internet to confirm you have a right to download and use them via your nintendo.com account

If that's not bad enough, I think that paying 5 bucks for SMB1 is robbery!
It would be great if someone could compile an emulator that would take advantage of the Opera browser meaning that it would run off of the www.
The Red Kawa media server which allows one to play certain media files from their PC on their WII through a network via software run on a PC has given me this idea.
I don't think that the WII has its own software to play videos. So if we could play videos that we own on the WII via a broadband connection, why not games, especially the home brew type or backups of games that many of us shamefully own.
Imagine exe-ing an application on your home computer, opening an IP address and port number in your WII browser, and then being able to play your backed up roms on your WII through an Opera browser dependent video game emulator interface. The games would not even be stored on the WII, but would be stored on a PC hard drive. The games would be exe-ed through the browser, and this would bypass the WII's DRM.
How fun that would be? I bet it would be impossible though. but I digress, paying the piper is inevitable, but paying a premium for copyrighted works that we have already paid for each time a new format comes out really sucks. I bet company's do this for that reason. The VC games should be more reasonable. If that was the case, many people would rather pay for a new format and would find the unorthodox method to be too much of a hassle! However, Virtual Console is a neat idea. It would be nice if they came out with games that were never released in the U.S., or games made especially for VC that would take advantage of the Wii controller.
Have a nice day everyone!
