NeroVision: File size?

I downloaded several .avi files (episodes of a tv show), which I want to burn onto DVD.

When I check the properties of the folder my video files are in, it says the size is 2.97 GB. However, when I add these video files to burn to NeroVision, the total space used exceeds 4.38 GB.

Why is this?

Hi dissolve
Here's a very basic answer: AVI's 'expand' when they are converted to dvd compliant video.
So that's normal.
