How do you watch a HDTV .avi file in XviD format?

Title says it all, downloaded a tv show in the format and dont have a clue as to how to watch it or were to go to find out.

HDTV is just the source, got nothing to do with the actual file really.
AVI . Windows comes with an AVI splitter. Video is XviD , so you would need to install XviD or something else that can decode XviD such as FFDShow . If the audio is mp3, windows comes with an mp3 decoder. If the file is HR or 720p , then you would need an AC3 decoder. Could also just use mplayer or VLC.
