I've heard many good things about Westinghouse TV's. I have seen a few & the picture quality is pretty good.
Am thinking about getting one for my bedroom, sometime in the future.
Some reviews on Cnet.com, on Westinghouses............

I would go with the Westinghouse. The cheapest Sony is $2300.00 for a 40" with 1080p and the cheapest Samsung is $2500.00 for a 40" with 10800p. Anything smaller from Samsung or Sony supports 480i,480p,720p,and 1080i
Dont let the door hit you on the way out, beacause I dont want ass prints on my new door!

Olevia sets are relatively cheap, with 1600:1 contrast and 8ms response time. They are frequently on sale--32" for < $600, I saw a 37" in a Sunday paper ad this week for $899.

There's no edit button on my last post for some reason so I'll make my correction here: Whoops! I forgot you were looking for 1080p. I don't think the less expensive Olevia sets support that, only 768p. BTW, are you set on an LCD/plasma and size <40"?
