Hi, New Guy

I was just wondering if anyone knows how to back up a DVD with the DVD-rom features included.

I tried backing up PotC as a Data DVD and it works on my DVD Recoder. However it won't work on my normal DVD player or on PS2.

hi and welcome to the forums.
if you use Nero, just open Nero Burning Rom and select 'dvd-video' compilation, then drag over (to the left in Nero) all movie files from the VIDEO_TS folder. (there's nothing in the AUDIO_TS folder so ignore that one).

Main PC ~ Intel C2Q Q6600 (G0 Stepping)/Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3/2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500/Zalman CNPS9700/Antec 900/Corsair HX 620W
Network ~ DD-WRT ~ 2node WDS-WPA2/AES ~ Buffalo WHR-G54S. 3node WPA2/AES ~ WRT54GS v6 (inc. WEP BSSID), WRT54G v2, WRT54G2 v1. *** Forum Rules ***

how do you add the PC Features? I tried Nero Recode but those features just didn't work (movie worked fine, though).

How about CloneCD by Slysoft (with AnyDVD)? Reportedly CloneCD will make 1 for 1 copy (w/o CSS of course). Use a DL disk to do this with PotC and see if it works. If you don't currently own CloneCD and/or AnyDVD download a 21 day trial at Slysoft.
regards

CloneDVD2 works great with all of the video extras, but if you want the extras available in a computer, I.E. coloring pages, kids art stuff, like in Shrek 2, you need a DL disk and DVDDecrypter and IMGBurn to get everything from one disk to another. From my limited experience in copying the entire disk over most programs just get the movie type material from the source disk, and ignore the data. I hope this is what you were asking about.

Now i know some are against it but, DVD Shrink clones the DVD so any thing that was on the original disk will be on the copied version. the quality might be a little less than before but its hard to notice.

Though we appreciate your opinion, this does not help markar. He wants to know how to retain the pc features. Unless you make an ISO of the original disc, most dvd copy software ignore everything but the video_ts folder on a dvd.

In order to burn an ISO image of this movie (I'm assuming you are referring to the Dead Man's Chest) you need a couple of things. The most important being a dual layer burner and dual layer discs. The other is a great piece of sofware called RipIt4Me. This along with DVD Decrypter will make an ISO image of this movie. I personally like burning ISO images with ImgBurn. All three software programs are free and should give you the results you are looking for.
