Hello all. I just bought an older movie from Walmart. Its called Master and Commander starring Russel Crowe made in 2003. I always rip to my HD first with DVDFab. It couldnt do it. At 48% it had an error(didnt pay attention to what it was). I thought, download the AnyDVD trial and try that. Again, at 48% it hangs, no error. Im thinkin wth?? Must be a bad disc. Looked at it, nothing really wrong visibly. Pop it back in and open Shrink, says copy protected...figured that. So I tried DVD Decrypter, guess what? It slowed to a crawl at 48% during VTS_06_4.VOB but it kept chugging along. I just ran it thru FixVTS and played it thru PowerDVD. It plays great. But now im wondering is it a bad disc and the old DVD Decrypter is less sensitive to bad disc's? Or is there new protection on this disc? How can I tell? Or is there a way? I cant find any error logs.

Nero CD-DVD Speed can check it.

Thanks, I forgot I could use Nero to check it. In the process now, but at exactly 48.2% its reading bad. Guess that answers that one. Still, I wonder why DVD Decrypter could read it? Interesting to me. Thanks again.
