I recently purchased the I/O Magic IDVD16DLS. When I turned on the power for my computer it did not boot up. I unplugged the power on the DVD drive and then my computer started up. After my computer started I plugged the power back into the drive and it worked fine. The next time I restarted my computer it wouldn't restart after it shut down. So I unplugged the power and restarted the computer and it started right up. What gives? Everytime I restart my computer I'm going to have to unplug the drive's power.

More than likely you have installed it wrong.
Check it's jumpers cables are set to MASTER and you have no faulty connections.
See this about jumpers...

I appreciate those helpful articles, Ripper. I got busy on my computer and looked at the master/ slave positions. I even tried both drives set at CS. Regardless of those settings my computer wouldn't start. I did discover that when I unplugged my power for my drive that instead of unplugging my new dvd burner, like I did before, I instead unplugged my CD-ROM's power. After I did that my computer started. So, for a reason obviously unknown to me, my computer will start only when I unplug one of the power cables going into the back of one of my drives and then after the computer boots I can plug the power back in and both drives work fine.
