Ok the whole restart thing of course isn't going to work because thats not going to change anything i've been working on this for the past 3 days. I will try changing the password on the xbox, but as u can see here: [R] 230 User xbox logged in , proceed. It looks like the connection and login is going through, but I am geting no data conection back to my computer or to and from the computer and xbox.[R] 425 Can't open data connection to 192.168.0.1:4614

I just tested conecting to my xbox with my laptop and it worked perfectly I just made a back up of a game. I compaired the settings on my laptop with thouse on my main computer and they look just the same. It seems that the computer is conecting to the xbox its just not opening the data connection to view the folders and files within the xbox. Still has anyone founf a fix for this because my main computer is my burning computer and its a pain transfering data from the laptop to the main computer for burning.

is the computer set up with a static IP?
My whole system is set up DHCP which is much easier as
it will assign the Xbox an IP address when you start it.
did you do the DOS promp command to get all the PC connection info?
You sound like you know your networking so i am sure you did
but just in case at the DOS prompt type ipconfig/all
it should give the ip, DSN, default gateways and tell you if
DHCP in enabled or not. Also some systems need to have network sharing set up to make connections.

have you tried forwarding ports on your router to see if that helps?
What type of router is it?
UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074
plus different firewalls and antivirus programs can cause connection problems.

Just trying to throw out anything i can think of so do not get mad if you already know all of this.
