Any ideas what the cause is? I am using an external 16x DVD RW drive via USB...I was able to rip/copy 2 other DVDs successfully, but these 2 others just won't work...
First I got some error about the files not fitting on the DVD-R disk (4.7GB 120min), but now I just get the above error(s).
Any ideas?

You need to dump Roxio from your system. Roxio and Nero don't get along, it (Roxio) always conflict with Nero, thus you're more than likely to create coaster. Get ROXIO ZAPPER here.

serial number removed, thread teleported to relevant forum, and the 'code' brackets removed that were making the post visible from 300metres away :)
I'll bet that burner is one of those annoying generic rebadged burners such as MicroAdvantage et al..

wwooooops. thx for removing the serial...did not notice that in there lol.
Anyways. The DVDs are Beerfest and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen that won't burn as normal. The Model number of the DVD Drive is DVDRW 1016UI.
As far as Roxio? I don't have that on my system...afaik anyways, lol. It's one of those bargain Acer systems though, so who knows.

Your log showed: Recorder: <DVDRW USB 16X> Version: U089
Well, according to "rpc1 forum", your drive is nowhere to be found under Acer/BenQ. Here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=1
Quote: As far as Roxio? I don't have that on my system...
Yes... you do, you either had Roxio or Roxio's driver installed on your system. Look at below taken from your log.

Again, you need to wipe out Roxio by using ROXIO ZAPPER.

DMAs are varies from drive to drives, so it's different from others comparing to yours. From your log, your LITE-ON DVD-ROM drive needs to turn back ON or Enable, so it can read CD/DVDs up to its designated speed.

This just isn't true. "Always" being the operative word here. I've had both installed for over 2 years. NeroInCD is not installed and is the problem. All other functions of EZCreator7 and NeroUltra Suite6.6 get along just fine. I must admit I rarely use EZ anymore but I do use its sound editor a lot. I rarely make a coaster. I'm not trying to step on your toes either, I have learned tons from you when I frist came here and continue to do so.

Nah I'm good and don't worry, so there's no reason to go from here. Hmm.. perhaps, I should have reprhased and or enhanced my words next time.
I completely agree with you on your part and I see where your coming from buddy. However, under few circumstances, I've seen some members (if not a whole lot) zapping Roxio, InCD, updating firmware, changing media to 1st class (high quality media), uninstalling Nero with its CleanTool and reinstalling seems to do the trick.
I remembered once, I had to "zap out Roxio, clean out InCD and updated my nephew's firmware" when he's having a lot of coasters while using Nero Burning Rom. Once Roxio and InCD were removed, my nephew's back in business.
We're all here to learn something everyday, cheers!!

I just tried backing up another DVD, 8 Mile; using DVD Shrink 3.2.
I followed the process of Opening the CD, letting it Analyze, and since the bar was green-filled (meaning it should all fit on my normal 4.7 GB/120min DVD media?) I hit Go, and let it rip. When the rip was done, it prompted for an empty DVD, which I gave it, and then now I'm getting the following error:
Quote: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Copy protection error.
Copy Protection error - the given sector does not have a valid CSS key.
and that it prompts with "The original DVD was ejected, Please reinsert it if you wish to continue working on this again."
Now, I haven't gone zapping any roxio files yet...as I don't understand how 2 DVDs have been backed up fine (playback was awesome too, at that), but these 2 (and well, now 3, counting 8 mile) won't back up properly.
Any idea what this copy protection error is?

You need to answer the question: "What are you using to remove DRMs on protected discs???" before any more help can be forth coming.

sorry for the long delay :P I've been having fun....
Using the DVDFab HD Decrypter > FixVTS (Full Disk) > DVDShrink > ImgBurn method :)
The only "pitfall" I've come upon...is I uninstalled the old "DVD Decryptor" software....and now DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 will not open the ISO File in ImgBurn automatically...since the "Burn" tab settings were previously set to "Open ISO with DVD Decrypter" Since I uninstalled that old version (now using DVDFab...since from what I gathered DVD Decrypter is/was obsolete now...)
But yea....now in DVD Shrink, when I click the Backup button, under "Select Backup Target" my only choice is "ISO Image File" - how can I set it to load the ISO into ImgBurn (I have v2.3.2.0 installed, Help menu says I have the latest version) and start the burning process like it did before before I uninstalled Dvd Decrypter?
I can't remember what guide I read...but I got the above burning method from a guide here on these forums somewhere, and its been working 100% for me thus far :) But it's just a pain that the ISO files are no longer being auto-loaded into my burner app (ImgBurn) after uninstalling the old DVD Decrpter software.
