Hey folks,

First off let me begin and tell you im completely noobified.
With that said allow me to continue...

Recently I purchased this god awful e-machine personal computer, I backed up my dvds w/ anydvd/dvdshrink, even burnt .img dvd files with
no problem. Now my dvd burner wants to ignore my wishes and not burn DVD-Rs. I'm using Nero 7 Ultra and I've tried two different DVD-R media.. The sony dvd-rs actually worked until the drive told me no so thats what stumps me. The computer is only three months old and WILL burn CD-Rs with little to no problem, any help would be greatly apperciated the error log from Nero is below. Thanks in advance!

you are using CMC Mag disk, which is crappy media, and then you're buring at 16x, that's too high for a crappy disk! you are also burning too close to the outer edge of the disk (4465MB out of a possible 4485MB) also that's too close to the edge of that crappy disk! And you are using 92% of your RAM .... increase your ram, don't multi task or go on the internet and shut down all unnecessary programs running in the background!

Use better media..... look on the label of the box or spindle and make sure it says Made In Japan! Otherwise use Verbatim... the only exception to the MIJ rule! they are top notch but made in Taiwan and the only Taiwan/Singapore disks I will use!

try this and see how it goes.

didn't see your reply when i was looking into this one. The thread title wasn't in fact mocking a religion, but to save any religious 'sensibilities' i've now changed it. And also, see my reply in the thread you picked out - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/443910/2687237
