When updating my wii, it just freezes, and I dont want to risk turning it off, what should i do?

SO is it still on?
Because if it is and its still frozen then god help you your Wii is gone for sure as it wont move if its frozen the only choice is to turn it off and then you will be on the Phone dialing Nintendo Customer Service this is why I always say "test your connection very harshly before you seek a Major Update Id first Send about 10 emails to see if it sends them does the connection drop out?if so every how long will it be enough time for an upadet to take place?
Wi-Fi is seriously Fidely one minute you could be receiving you neighbours signal the next you cant even recive yours thats why you need to take precautions but every now and then it happends its computer stuff it always freezes this is why i think nintendo shoudl give the update on discs now not in April 07.
If its still frozen and on leave it for another 1 hour if it dosent work first disconnect the Wi-Fi router and leave it for 15 min see if it detects that the connection's been dropped if not turn it off then turn it on then if you get the 5 digit error which you cant get rid of then call customer if it runs to the menu then boy you must have some luck on your side that id want in my life LOL!

Well I accidentally turned it off when pressing all the buttons (:S). It turned back on and said all my settings are corrupted, so I restarted it, and it worked normally! I don't think canceling severely affected the console, so I just hope no other effects crop up later. Do you think Nintendo would replace it if it did?

You can go into your settings and re-format the System. If you have any saves on the system, get an SD card, and put them on there. Then re-format your system, and then try the update.
