Hi. I just bought 100 / 4x DVD-R from www.meritline.com . They seem to work ok but Roxio only burned at a slow 1x in power record mode. When I ran DVD Identifier it says I have Mitsubishi disks. Am I getting a bad deal or are they an official manufacturer of VERBATIM disks?? thanks for any info.

Hi,Mitsubishi is the manufacturer behind Verbatim, there is not such thing as a Verbatim code in DVD identifier, so a very good deal and remember in terms of discs Verbs media code will almost always show up like MCC (Mitsubishi Chemical Company) or MKM (Mitsubishi Kagaku Media), this is because mitsubishi (as I wrote before) is the one that manufactures in almost all cases Verbatim Media.

Thanks for the reply Paztelu . I've used Verbatim with great luck in the past, but they were branded or labeled (looked like an old movie reel). These disks are all silver and came in a generic looking wrap.I use an old Plextor 708A and it has been good to me.Happy burning! Thanks.

just make sure you are running the latest firmware on that older Plextor and you should be fine
