I've been backing up several movies for my next trip to Iraq and these are the only ones I'm having a problem with. Ive been using DVD Shrink for everything w/o any issues until now.
I tried downloading a trial version of DVD cloner 4 but it wouldnt get it done either. I cannot get the trial version of one click dvd copy 5 because I got a version of it some time back when I was tesing several programs.
Remove DVD43 as well as DVD Cloner 4. You have three options as far as beating the hardcore copy protection found on modern movies, especially Disney:
If you want to go the easiest-to-use route, get AnyDVD and CloneDVD from www.slysoft.com. This will cost you but you get free updates for life.
If you want to go the free-software route, you can use either DVDFab Decrypter (not the same as DVD-Decrypter) and either DVD-Decrypter or Imgburn to do the actual burning, and DVD Shrick/Nero Recode to compress if necessary.
The third option, also free, is Ripit4me, which makes use of DVD Shrink anyway. You'd still use DVD-Decrypter or Imgburn for the burning portion.
The latest versions of any of these will handle modern copy-protection. Once the DVD is on your hard disk it's a matter of shrinking (if necessary) and burning.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
