when i copy dvd files or audio file they jump or pause and goes into squares picells what am i doing wrong

Hi.

There are a number of things that can cause this. Among the most common causes of burn quality problems are the following:

- using poor quality media. Good media are Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and anything labeled made in Japan, although MIJ Fuji and Sony are to be preferred.

- burning too fast, especially when using poorer quality media. A good rule of thumb is to try burning at half the rated speed of the media or lower. Some limit their burn speed to 4X even for 16X media. If you're getting bad burns, always try lowering your speed.

- out of date burner firmware. Burner firmware can be found at the database link below and at your vendor's web support site:

I assume you're burning with Nero since you've posted to the Nero forum. Post back your Nero history log section for one of the bad burns and we'll look it over and see what exactly may be causing the problem. The Nero burn log can be found in one of the following paths depending on the Nero version:

Nero 6: Program Files > Ahead > Nero > NeroHistory
Nero 6: Program Files > Nero > Nero7 > Core > NeroHistory

The log is divided into sections, one for each of the last several burn attempts. Each section (except the first) begins with a header followed by your name and Nero program serial number. Do not post the entire file, but only the section for one of the bad burns. Be sure to exclude your name and serial number from the post.
