9.4 gb Dvd media - Double sided single layer ?

silly question ? Has anyone ever used any of these disc ? I think Meritline sells some in an off brand called ACCU ! probably crap ! Though If someone like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim made them ? Might be smurfy to keep a couple of them around for backing up movies that have the fullscreen edition on one side & Widescreen on the other! I generally just do the Fullscreen version though ! I suppose given the right software & some DVD+R DL media you could just put the two versions on one DL disc or make two seperate copies one FS & One WS ! The only problem would be how to label them ( The double sided single layer ones ) I suppose though that Meritline.com or whoever sold the disc would have somekind of label? Or one could use one of those invisible blacklight pens that they sell to mark your property so the police can return it to you if it's stolen ? Happy 2007 y;all

IVE seen those disc a few times at microcenter not that often maybe 3 times. pretty costly if i remember... i agree with you they would be cool to have just for those movies tha have full and wide on opposite sides. i dont know how good of a disc they would be. i never heard of that name before. i just did wickerman last weekend and just made 2 copies of it wasnt the wide or full just to 2 different versions

No one worth buying makes them, but if Taiyo Yuden or Verb did make them, they'd look interesting enough to buy. ;-)

Notice they only come in DVD-R format though (or DVD-RAM), no DVD+Rs! :'(

yeah ! Due to cost & lack of a quality brand in the DVD-10 or whatever Double sided single layer DVD-R are called ! I'll probably just stick with either backing up one version of a movie or make a regular SL copy of each version even using two dvd's is cheaper than 1 of those flipper disc & would be better quality media too boot ! Was just a thought though ! thanks everyone !
