I just finished building a new computer, I have a geforce 8800 gtx and a 22 inch viewsonic lcd monitor. I finished building it yesterday. The first time I powered it up, everything worked fine, the second time I powered it up I got a no signal message on the monitor, I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I finally figured out I had plugged something in without powering the system down. So I shut down the computer and the monitor and unplugged the DVI connectors from both the monitor and the video card. I waited a few minutes and plugged the DVI back into the video card and the monitor. When I powered everything up, it worked fine. All day yesterday it worked great. I was able to install all the drivers for the various hardware, and I installed a few games. I finally shut it down for the night. When I got up this morning I powered it up and it was working fine. I plugged in my ethernet cable, and found that my mouse cable was tangled up with some other cords, so I unplugged the mouse and untangled everything, I then plugged the mouse back in. When I looked at the monitor the mouse pointer was up in the top left corner and the mouse wouldn't work. It didn't seem to be getting any power because the red laser light on the bottom of the mouse wasn't on. So I figured I had made the same mistake and plugged hardware in without powering down. I restarted the computer and got another no signal message on the monitor. Since then I have tried everything I could think of to get everything working, but I still get a no signal. I tried unplugging the mouse and ethernet cables and then starting up again, I tried powering down and unplugging the dvi cables then plugging them back in, but nothing has worked. I have tried unplugging things and plugging them back in using all kinds of different combinations, but I always get a no signal message on the monitor. I don't know whats going on, but I am super pissed, because I just dropped about 2500 dollars on all the hardware for this new computer and now it won't work. I am also confused because everything was working fine for a day and a half, but then it crapped out on me. The only message of any type that I get is one long beep followed by two short beeps when I power on the computer, and I don't remember if that has ever happened, I'm not sure if that means anything or not. If anyone could help me out, either by telling me how to fix it, or telling me how I can figure out how to fix it, I would really appreciate it. I don't want to be stuck with a 2500 dollar paperweight.

*update*

I just plugged the trouble monitor into my older computer and it worked fine. I assume that means it is a problem with my video card, or something else in my computer. I checked all the power cords to make sure they are connected to the video card, and I made sure the video card is inserted correctly into the motherboard. I just don't understand why it would work for a day and a half then stop working.
