No but there's a rumour go around that someone has mad a modchip working for the first lot versions of Wii's in UK that worked over at http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=42874

But he won't say the which site it was from because it from a torrent site and it agaist the forum rules post those type of sites.

I'm wanting to know what the name of the site is so I can keep up to date with new wii hack news.

this is bull

not only is this statement full of holes if you replace the wii bios chip how is the wii going to boot this is a garbage statement

right noe hackers are working on a version of gcos for the new action replay homebrew system for gc and wii 49.99 at codejunkies.com so that all backups of gamecube titles will boot but so far it has not proven successfull because nintendo has blocked both of the main hacks that allow the gc to run backuped games

so they are working on it just wait

but the 360 hack is using a firmware update what they are talking about doing is ripping the cmos/bios chip off the mainboard which controlls the intire console

I ran across a site that says you can play backup gamecube games on the wii with sd memory, adapter, freeloader, and memory card. Does that work?

In theory yes because the old gamecube could without a modchip with an Action Replay so I don't see why it would not work for Gamecube homebrew on the Wii.

And my point in my last post was people thought it was fake not about how it worked.

Newbie here. Wii is my first game thingy besides PC flight sims.

Haven't been able to play Game Cube games (Madden 04, Open Season) on our Wii. How do you get them to play? Is there a list of ones that won't work?

Also, what are backup games and where do you get them?

Backups are Copy's of games that you own so the oringal don't get damaged because some people don't know how or care to look after CD's or DVD's.

if you rip the CMOS chip of your computer or computer product wont start because it does NOT know what it is it dosent actually controlr it it keeps time, details on your Mainboard ,ram,CPU,gpu,cd drive, harddrive etc.etc without the details it cant actually store the dsetails so it boots.

How large of a file is the typical backup copy and what is the process?

It seems like a game would use a lot more than 1GB, but as I've said more than a couple of times here, I'm new to the whole game console world.
