Hello,

First off, I love these forums and recommend them regularly to people but this is my first official post.

I currently have a hp 3.0 ghz w/1gb ram laptop and I need to buy a new DVD drive for back-ups. I've been browsing the forums and have dwindled down the help I need.

I'm looking at a few different options and I'm wondering what everyone thinks would work best. I have about $100 to spend so keep that in consideration :)

I'm looking at the Lite-On SHM-1656SX

I'm also looking at the Pioneer DVD-111D

But I'm also considering buying an external enclosure and then purchasing an Internal DVD drive to place in the enclosure. I'd probably go after one of the BenQ 1640/1650/1655 drives inside. So I'm just more or less gathering information and opinions on what everyone thinks my best bet to be. Whether it be something completely different from what I've mentioned and/or if I should go Built-for-External or customize my External Drive.
