If the wii can sell 3.7 million wii's in 2 months that means that they'll easily takeover the xbox 360 in the next year who are currently at 9.8.

http://www.vgcharts.org/ These guys say that the Wii has sold 4 MILLION consoles! And the Xbox 360 hasn't even reached 9 million. Nintendo's on fire, they nearly have 50% of the next-generation market, and they're owning Sony in the handhelds! Jeez, man, I think Nintendo is back to reclaim their crown!

Its Aprx 4 million but all of you do know that even if they win it wont be by as much as you think you have to be fair The wii sales are going to die down in the next couple of months as always launch demand wont stay as the normal demand but still its running quite well and Id expect it at normal ace to catch the 360 by Dec "07" but you also have to think about the ps3 its only been launched in 2 regions and even in those 2 its limited in numbers.

Well I'm just informing that some retard on wikipedia went and changed the figures of the sales for the wii because the obviously know nothing. Considering sales figures have been shown on cnbc, cnn, ect as well as internet media outlets.

It may be fine and well that the Xbox 360 has sold as many as they have in the year or so that its been out but you must consider that the Wii has been out a small fraction of the time that Microsoft's "little engine that thinks it can" has been on the market. And yet, the Wii has accomplished sales numbers that produce a huge threat in what, a matter of months. Another key point to consider is that the Xbox does not make as much money (if any) for each system they sell whereas Nintendo makes actual profit for the sale of each system. This undoubtedly garners deeper financial support for development for the Wii. With stronger hardware support, stronger software support can obviously be the result of that. Good software means good sales. Its all relative but it starts with a solid system and support.
Happiness is not having the things you want, its wanting the things you have.

Nobody knows that the Rent to Own companies (RentWay, Rent A Center, AArons, etc) all have contracts with Sony and Microsoft. They buy these systems in lots of 5-7 per store times 3000 stores each for all three major rent to own companies and you are looking at 45-63,000 units. Given the wear and tear on those systems from irresponsible rentors you could say that they need to purchase andother 22,500 - 36,500 more units that will need replacing every two years or so. Given those estimates and I repeat ESTIMATES, it would be safe to say that over a 5 year generation life span, the three major rental companies will account for 101,250 - 153,250 units per PSP, Xbox 360, and PS3 sold in the US alone. Now that seems like a low figure, but there are hundreds of smaller rent to own companies out there. Nintendo is the only company that does not sell to these types of companies, and when they announce thier numbers, they are sold units to customers not stores.
