I don't know how accurate this information is. I got Nintendo Wii and I used to own a Action Replay for my gamecube, so I have played around with the idea of GC homebrew and backups.

I could never get the damn GC to play the backups though and the streaming was way too freaking slow, so I gave up on it.

I got my Wii a while back and i have been wondering if playing backups (of Wii or Gamecube) would be easier on the Nintendo Wii.

So I did a search on google and I got this page here:

That talks about a Wii mod chip. How accurate is this? Or is it simply just garbage?

I already did a search on the forums and apperently right now the Wii isn't being any closer to playing backups right now, so I was curious about this information I found.

gut instinct.... fake just because theres been nothing on any of the wii sites and for this statement

there is a homebrew kit that is out for wii and the gamecube by datel go to www.codejunkies.com the kit is 49.99 and comes with a 1 gig sd card

They just recently discovered the disc structure of the Wii/Gamecube.
It turns out they're just DVDs/MiniDVDs with a modified disc structure.

However, being able to dump an ISO in this method is just the bare beginnings of a possible Wii Mod...

In other words, I suggest you wait until people here at the forum can confirm any kind of wii homebrews..... Blegh, all these Wii hoaxes piss me off...

One more thing... I read through the website you mentioned. It's a complete hoax. It contains bits and pieces of mod-chipping information regarding the original GameCube, the PS2, the XBOX, and the PSP....

In other words, it basically takes real information, throws it all together, and makes it seem like its pertinent to the Wii... It's basically bullshit...

I don't understand why someone would put up a Wii site like that, I couldn't find a single link to an advertiser, or a store...

In fact, if you follow the circle... it looks like someone was really bored, and had some cash lying around, and decided to launch a series of opinion/information websites.....

Blegh, a lot of that stuff is fake. Quite a bit of it has basis in truth, but then again, so do many false things.
