Here is the DVD info scan from an Office Depot "8X DVD-R" disk I picked up the other day as part of their 75-25 pack sale for $14.99. The disk is stamped 8X DVD-R. but burned at 12X, hence I scanned it and found out it was a 16X Ritek F-1 Media Information

blivetNC- Then you have the Blank DVD-R equivalent of a misprinted postage stamp! It did burn okay ? sometimes the online retailers - will do that with the Taiyo yudens if they run out of the speed you ordered Like you ordered 4x for example and they send 8 or 16x which usually is to your benefit unless your deck can't burn those speeds well !I think supermediastore used to do this but they would put the media codes for all three speeds on the taiyos add that they would upgrade you on ! So atleast they were letting you know somewhat in advance about it ! ON the Officedepot Mixed veg. Spindles 75/25 splits I have'nt bought any of them yet for a few reasons #1. already have too many CDR's 2. If I wait OD will put the 100ct spindles of dvd's onsale for $19.99 !realistically I have no problems with their media but if your going to be paying roughly the same .20 odd cents for officedepot media why not get the dvd's ? the cdr's are costing you the same amount and have way less capacity ! I realize that CDR & DVDR are two similar but different critters but you get my drift ! The only reason I could see for buying the mixed packs is if you really wanna pick up some Ritek G-O5's without ordering online - I like riteks & Officedepot just fine ! I just am noty a big fan of the split ( Mixed Veg.!!!!) packs But we're all different so if they work for you I'm glad ! me give me a real 100pk that's me !!! Good Luck blivetNC & happy Burning!!!!!

The CD's are for my kids, they love to burn music and download MP3 files onto their Ipods etc.
I picked up a couple of hundred Sony DVD-Rs from Staples this week so I am set for quite a while. Keep us posted on the Dumpster diving and the other exploits of our favirite ouisiana crawdad.
