Best DVD copying method

If im using a dual layer burner whats the best way to copy it. can i use dvdshrink with no compression and then burn the decrypted files with Nero? will I loose any quality that way?

My second question is, If I wanted to burn to a 4.7gb dvd what the best way to compress the dvd, in terms of quality? I know dvdshrink can do it but hows the qualityt? is there a different method that outputs better quality?

I have a really stupid question but I am new to all this. Don't you have to have 2 DVD slots on your computer to do this or can you do it if you only have one place to put a DVD? Mine does not have a DVD player its just for CD's. Can I still use this software?
