If it dose,they should atleast make it 8 or 16 players at a time.There should be deathmatch and capture the flag.Voice Chat should also be included!

@TabletPC

What you mean to say is that the last Metroid game had an online multiplayer and that there is no reason why the next one won't too. MP:Hunters was developed by NTS, a first-party developer for Nintendo, so I'd think it's an accurate demonstration of where Nintendo goes in the future. I'm expecting a multiplayer format similar to that found in Hunters.

I think it most likely will have online its a big hit game and one that does even better with online 8 or 16 players would push the Wii to the Maxumin in graohics and processing power at those graphics but i think it should do it fine so i dont see whu there wouldnt be online,
P.S why DID TabletPC get banned for?

It would make absolutely NO sense for them to make it offline only. Saying that 'portable and console online modes are supported differently' is a great argument..... If you're suggesting that a PORTABLE won't have it, when a CONSOLE version does.

It would be a step backwards on SO many levels if they didn't.

And besides, I could swear they already said that it IS online? I'll have to look around, see if I can find anything on that. Maybe I'm just crazy on that part.

Either way, Nintendo is much too smart to step backwards like that, it would be a "deh deh der" moment of monumental proportions for them, and Nintendo hasn't been making decisions of that nature lately.... Sony has. :D

If they do in fact make the new Metroid for Wii online (which I hope they will), I would definitely suggest changing the ability to use alternate form indefinitely. Perhaps limit the time that players may remain in alternate form. That would help keep the pace going better.

Found this. It's kind of funny, honestly.

IGN: How will social networking be handled? Will there be anonymous friend codes like on the DS network, or will users be able to choose recognisable IDs like on Xbox Live?

David Yarnton: More details on that will come out closer to launch. But you will be able to play online, so for example with Metroid you will be able to play against friends online? [editor's note: at this point the Nintendo PR rep steps in to assert that Metroid has not been confirmed for online play].
Basically, the Nintendo UK general manager says it's online, but then the PR guy says "well that's not official yet". Which, in english means, they're developing it for online, but don't want to confirm in case they have to pull it(Rumored to have happened with Metroid Prime 2.)

Interesting nonetheless.

well untill i get more information from nintendo or another source then im currently waiting to see because if they do online it most likely will require the use of the lan adapter for the wii the reason simple because even if the console is wireless wireless is to slow to do multiplayer with look at the 360 and even at the ps3 allthough wireless works it is slow or laggy
